saving money in the bedroomThere are certain rooms in the house that are known for using a lot of energy, and the bedroom usually isn’t one of them. After all, there are no energy-wasting appliances in the bedroom, and much of the time that you’re in this room is spent sleeping with the lights off.

Even though you may not consume as much energy in the bedroom as you do in the kitchen or living room, there are still ways that you can save energy to protect the planet and lower your utility bills.

You may think saving energy requires time or a huge financial commitment, but that’s definitely not the case. You don’t have to give up hours of your personal life or spend a lot of money to make your bedroom more energy efficient.

In fact, there are many different ways to save energy in your bedroom just by making simple switches or stopping bad habits. For example, one way to reduce the amount of energy you use in the bedroom is to switch from traditional light bulbs to LED light bulbs. These energy efficient light bulbs use 25-80% less energy than traditional bulbs and they last up to 25 times as long, too!

Do you typically drift to sleep while watching your favorite late night shows? Make an effort to turn the TV off—or turn on the sleep settings on your TV—before you go to sleep. Leaving the TV on all night can waste a significant amount of energy, so by simply pushing the power button, you can greatly reduce your home’s energy use.

So you see, saving energy doesn’t have to be difficult. And these are just two of the many quick and easy ways to save energy in your bedroom. To learn more tips and tricks, take a look at this informational video:
